Early Journey of Sidharth Malhotra
Sidharth Malhotra was born in Delhi, on 16th January 1985. This Punjabi boy started taking modelling assignments during his college days as side gigs. He was doing great in this profession and was soon spotted by a model coordinator who assisted him in making modelling a full time job. He won a few beauty pageants and had a very successful modelling career. And soon his attention shifted towards the film industry.
Before The Big Break
- Sidharth Malhotra was supposed to be starring alongside Priyanka Chopra in the year 2008 for the film Fashion, but due to his contract from his modelling career with Gladrags.
- In the year 2009 he got his first acting project of an Indian Historical Drama, Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan broadcasted on star plus. He had a small role of the character named Jaichand.
- He gained some experience and a lot of interest in pursuing acting as a career which led him to audition for an Anubhav Sinha film. He even signed a contract but unfortunately the film got shelved.
- He then decided to work as an assistant director for a better understanding of the art of film-making. And soon in 2010 he got the opportunity to become the assistant director to Karan Johar on the film My Name Is Khan.

Finally, in the year 2012, Sidharth Malhotra got his big break with Karan Johar’s Movie Student Of The Year, alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The movie was based on college drama, teenage love, family issues, and complicated friendships. Student Of The Year surely was a big hit and all the actors gained lots of love and popularity post the release. Sidharth in particular made everyone curious as he stood out among the star kids. He sure had the best debut along with Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.
Journey Ahead of Sidharth Malhotra
After the big break, Sid had nearly a year-long absence. But in 2014 he signed his next project with Parineeti Chopra alongside, in Hasee Toh Phasee. The film had a fair financial performance at the box office and received a good amount of love from the audience.

He next appeared in the remake of an American movie, Warriors, which was named as Brothers and starred Akshay Kumar alongside.
Next in 2016 he starred with Alia Bhatt in Shakun Batra’s Kapoor & Sons, which was a story of a dysfunctional family highlighting complicated relationships. His character in the movie and his chemistry with Alia Bhatt received a great amount of love from the audience.

In 2021, the movie Shershaah, proved to be a game changer! He played the role of Param Vir Chakra Vikram Batra, in this action-biographical film. The story and the film was celebrated nationwide and received lots of praise. And Sid’s performance in particular was highly appreciated by everyone. It was also the most watched film in the time period that it released. This movie sure was a great come back.
Recently his newly released movie Thank God has all the attention due to its unique story. This movie stars Sid alongside Ajay Devgan and Rakul Preet Singh.
