Personal Life

Pawan Singh was born into a Hindu Rajput family in Jokahri village, located near Arrah in Bihar. His father is Rama Shankar Singh, and his mother is Pratima Singh. He has two older brothers and a sister named Mala Singh.
Pawan Singh’s paternal uncle, Ajit Singh, who is also a Bhojpuri singer, began mentoring him in music after recognising his passion for singing. His cousins, Rithik Singh and Satish Singh, have also pursued careers as Bhojpuri singers.
Pawan Singh married his first wife, Neelam Singh, in a private ceremony attended by his close ones and some personalities from the Bhojpuri industry on 1 December 2014. She died by taking her own life on 8 March 2015 at their home in Andheri, Mumbai. Later, Pawan Singh wife Jyoti Singh, a fashion designer, became his companion through a court marriage on 5 March 2018.
The couple also held a traditional Hindu wedding the next day at a hotel in Chitbaragaon, Ballia. This couple now has a son together. However, they filed for a divorce in 2022, but it was not finalised as Pawan Singh reportedly did not want to proceed with it.

Pawan Singh’s Controversies

In October 2022, Jyoti Singh, wife of Pawan Singh, lodged a complaint at the Ballia police station. She accused him of subjecting her to mental harassment, pressuring her to undergo an abortion and allegedly driving her toward thoughts of self-harm and this contributed to the Pawan Singh controversy list. In January 2023, Bhojpuri actress Yamini Singh reportedly accused Pawan Singh of inappropriate behaviour on a film set and used the word ‘compromise.’ However, Yamini later clarified the situation through an Instagram post, stating that her comments were misunderstood and misrepresented, and this led to the Pawan Singh controversy.
Yamini Singh explained that her remarks referred to the crew of the Bhojpuri film Boss, not Pawan Singh. She clarified that the term ‘compromise’ was a significant word that would never be used by her for anyone, as its meaning was well understood by her. It was further mentioned that the issue had been exaggerated by others and blown out of proportion due to a minor misunderstanding. Respect for all her co-stars and dedication to her work were expressed by her.
In September 2024, a female YouTuber claimed that Pawan Singh’s supporters had threatened to take her life. As a result, a case was registered at the Kadamkuan police station in Patna against him.
In 2024, Akshara Singh accused Pawan Singh of mental dominance during her alleged relationship with him. She accepted to be madly in love with him and tolerated his dominance, considering it her duty. However, they reportedly had a breakup, which put Akshara Singh into depression, which again made headlines and contributed to the Pawan Singh controversy list.
